Swimming is on a Wednsday whilst the weather is warm enough.
Music is on a Thursday. This is taught by Mrs Mason.
PE is on a Tuesday. Children may now wear PE kit to school on this day
Forest School is on a Friday afternoon. Class 7 sessions will be in the Autumn term. Class 8 sessions will be Spring term.
A copy of our timetable can be found on the website. Although please bear in mind this changes frequently.
Children must have a water bottle in school everyday. One with a sports cap is ideal as they don’t spill when knocked over.
The snack trolley no longer operates so if children want a snack at break time this must be brought in from home. This must be a healthy snack so fruit or a cereal bar is acceptable.
A reminder that school meals must be booked in by the Saturday of the week before they are needed. Please ensure you also remember to cancel lunches if not needed.
As we are moving back to being able to come into school in PE kit, we are going to be stricter about what PE kit is being worn. PE uniform is a pale blue round necked t-shirt, blue shorts and a navy tracksuit.
Please ensure all uniform is named!
Reading: This expectation has changed. Children are expected to read a colour banded book or library book to an adult at least three times a week, if they are below band 16. Children who are reading above band 16 will complete a reading journal activity every two weeks. Reading journals provide a thinking space for children to explore and reflect on their reading experience through writing and drawing. Reading records will be checked weekly by an adult.
SPaG: To embed previous and recently taught SPaG knowledge, children are expected to complete weekly 15 minutes activities using workbook provided by the school. This is marked by the children at home and handed in every Friday to be checked.
Maths: Children will be expected to complete some Mathletics. TBC
There will no longer be weekly topic home learning. Class teachers will provide optional opportunities for extended learning on the website.
Particular learning focuses for this year

Our curriculum has changed. Topics are now studied for a half term. Our topics will be: World War 2, Life in the Alps, Local area study, Living in the desert, and fieldwork enquiries.
