There has been a real ‘buzz’ around school this week as we have stepped out of our routine class timetables and immersed ourselves in Creative Arts activities. Staff and pupils alike have had a truly fantastic week!

Our theme has beenĀ based on art that is inspired by music and we have used illustrator James Mayhew’s book ‘Once Upon a Tune’ as the starting point. Today, our final day has been extra special as we have welcomed James Mayhew and his husband and co-illustrator Toto, into school to work with Year 6.

Scheherazade, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, William Tell and In the Hall of the Mountain King are just some of the musical works that have fuelled our pupils’ creativity during the week. We are also indebted to our amazingly talented parents, Siu and Alex Redington, who have given up their time this afternoon to perform with James Mayhew, providing an inspirational concert of music and illustration for the whole school. Wow!
