Year 3 had a wonderful time at the University of Cambridge Botanical
Gardens on the 30th June. We were very lucky to have such wonderful
weather. Hannah, the learning officer, welcomed us all when we arrived
and then took one group off to the Garden room where they learnt all
about pollination and seed dispersal. They looked through microscopes at
pollen and pretended to be bees collecting pollen in a giant flower! They
also went for a guided walk led by the garden learning volunteers who
showed us us many amazing plants and flowers.

The other group went on a walk around the gardens, sat listening to the
fountains, hunting for pine cones to collect in our paper bags that we had
been given to take home, and sketching the wonderful purple and blue
bee border plants.

We then had a picnic lunch under a tree altogether and then swapped
around activities.

We had a very relaxing, sunny day learning more about plants.
