Catch Up Premium

In June 2021, the Government announced a £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Further guidance has now been released and can be viewed at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-catch-up-premium. Schools allocations are calculated on a per pupil basis.

Linton Heights Junior School used this funding for specific activities to support pupils and to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months and has spent their funding in the best way for the children and circumstances.

We have tried our best to ensure that children caught up on any lost learning time and potential gaps in knowledge. This plan focused on quality first teaching; teachers delivering quality tutoring which was linked to the learning in the classroom, specific year group interventions, classroom intervention and small group targeted support with the children’s health and well-being at the centre of all we do.
